Julia Ormond

JuliaOrmond was the daughter of Josephine, a lab technician, and John Ormond (a stockbroker) located in Epsom, Surrey. Ormond is the second of five children to her parents. She was educated in private schools, at first Guildford High School and then Cranleigh School, where early performance in Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady began to attract attention. After a single year in art school , she was moved to Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art where she graduated in 1988. Ormond made her first appearance on British TV's 1989 show Traffik. It was about illicit heroin trade between the Far East as well as the streets of Europe. Ormond played the heroin-addicted daughter of the main character who was a Home Office minister who was involved in fighting heroin importation. It was the first time Ormond had a role and received a fawning review.
